ARSENAL fans are convinced David Alaba is set to leave Bayern Munich and join the club this summer.

That’s after the Bundesliga side confirmed the ï¿¡68million (€80m) arrival of Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid.

The left-back joining despite Bayern already having Alaba has led to speculation the Austria international could leave the Allianz Arena.

The 26-year-old is an Arsenal fan and his fellow Gunners supporters have already welcomed him to the club on social media thinking a deal has to be done.

Alaba has made 34 appearances in all competitions for Bayern this season.

One Arsenal fan said on Twitter: “Welcome to Arsenal David Alaba.”

Another added: “david alaba is 99% coming to arsenal.”

And a third exclaimed: “Now that Bayern Have confirmed the signing of Lucas Hernandez.. It's official now David Alaba will join Arsenal..

“Welcome to Arsenal David.”

Alaba recently spoke on his future and hasn’t ruled out leaving Bayern.

“I can imagine trying something else,” he said.

“Every year there are new challenges and new objectives, and the pressure will always be there.

“I'm happy in Munich, but of course I can imagine seeing something else [in the future].”

If Alaba was to move to the Premier League he signalled Arsenal would be the club he was most interested due to being a supporter.

When asked where he would go, should he leave Germany, Alaba said: "Spain, England. In Spain it would be the two big clubs, I guess? Real [Madrid] or Barcelona.

“Also the big clubs in England. I was [an Arsenal fan] as a child. When you've been an Arsenal fan as a kid you will be one your whole life.”

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is in the market for a left-back this summer with doubts over the futures of Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.

Kieran Tierney at Celtic is a target and Nicolas Tagliafico of Ajax has been linked with the Gunners.
