Salford continue fine form

Salford made it four wins in a row and moved up to fourth in the National League table with a 1-0 win at struggling Aldershot.
The visitors started brightly, with Lois Maynard firing just over the crossbar and Ibou Touray heading inches wide shortly afterwards.
Liam Hogan was not too far away with a header from a corner after 31 minutes, while at the other end Aldershot winger Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong was denied by Chris Neal when through one-on-one.
Salford broke the deadlock just before the break when Gus Mafuta saw a shot blocked but the ball fell for Devonte Redmond to stroke home.
They had the ball in the net early in the second half when Nathan Pond headed in, but the referee deemed Touray’s corner had left the field of play.
A John Goddard free-kick that was tipped onto the crossbar by Neal and a swerving shot from Adam McDonnell was the best the Shots could muster, with the latter sent off for a shirt pull at the death.
