Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce fears striker Lucas Joao could miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Joao has not featured since the win over Swansea on February 23 and has returned to his native Portugal to consult a specialist.
Fernando Forestieri is also sidelined with a hamstring problem while Gary Hooper is still short of match fitness following a long injury lay-off.
Josh Onomah is ruled out on Saturday but Sam Winnall is in contention to start after coming on as a substitute in the last two games.
Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray will give late fitness tests to a number of players ahead of the trip to Hillsborough.
Jack Rodwell has missed the last two games and Danny Graham is struggling with a hamstring injury, but both could make the squad.
Amari’i Bell is doubtful after limping off in the first half of the win over Wigan.
Charlie Mulgrew may not be fit to return due to a hamstring injury and Darragh Lenihan remains sidelined.
