Danny Rowe brace inspires Fylde to victory over Hartlepool

Danny Rowe scored twice as AFC Fylde moved fourth in the National League table with a 4-2 win over Hartlepool.
The home side got off to the perfect start as Rowe’s low shot from the edge of the box beat Hartlepool goalkeeper Scott Loach.
Jordan Tunnicliffe should have made it two shortly afterwards but he headed wide from a corner when unmarked.
Hartlepool finished the first half strongly and were back on level terms at the start of the second half as Ryan Donaldson tried his luck from distance in the blustery conditions and the ball beat Jay Lynch.
Fylde regained the lead against the run of play in the 56th minute when a cross from the right was turned in by the knee of Hartlepool defender Fraser Kerr.
Loach denied Nick Haughton with a stunning save and Hartlepool equalised for a second time as Josh Hawkes’ inswinging corner went straight in.
Their joy was short-lived, though, as Rowe nodded in his second of the night in the 79th minute and Lewis Walters turned in a fourth at the death to seal victory.
