Blue Toon bounce back to beat Annan

Leaders Peterhead fought back from a goal down to beat promotion play-off contenders Annan 2-1 in Ladbrokes League Two.

Tony Wallace gave Annan the lead after 21 minutes but four minutes later Jack Leitch equalised and Derek Lyle wrapped up the three points with 19 minutes to go.

Edinburgh City remain five points behind in second after their 2-0 home win against 10-man Queen’s Park.

Blair Henderson gave Edinburgh the lead after half an hour before Alan Gow was sent off for the Spiders after 58 minutes for a second booking, with Ciaran Diver scoring the home side’s second goal with five minutes remaining.

Clyde’s 2-1 defeat by Elgin was made worse after they were deducted four points for fielding an ineligible player.

A victory over Albion Rovers and draw with Queen’s Park in February were both overturned and awarded as 3-0 victories for their opponents following a Scottish Professional Football League hearing.

Clyde went into the hearing seven points behind leaders Peterhead, but are now 14 points adrift after seeing a 16-match unbeaten run end with the defeat at Elgin.

Ross Maciver got both goals for Elgin, either side of an effort from John Rankin.

Berwick drew 1-1 with Cowdenbeath despite having Declan O’Kane sent off after 89 minutes.

Calum Adamson had given Berwick the lead after 24 minutes and Robbie Buchanan equalised seven minutes later before O’Kane’s late dismissal.

Albion Rovers remain bottom despite a 1-0 win at Stirling thanks to Gregor Fotheringham’s fourth-minute goal.
