Bruce Anderson strike sinks Alloa

Bruce Anderson’s second-half strike was enough for Dunfermline to claim a fifth straight win – 1-0 against lowly Alloa at Indodrill Stadium.
The first half saw few chances, with the visitors coming closest to breaking the deadlock through half-chances from Joe Thomson, Kallum Higginbotham and Tom Beadling, but the game remained goalless at the break.
The Pars’ hard work paid off as on-loan Aberdeen striker Anderson slotted Thomson’s cross into the bottom corner eight minutes into the second half for his third goal in three games.
Thomson shot wide moments later as Dunfermline searched for a second, while Higginbotham had an effort blocked.
At the other end, Dario Zanatta was denied and late headers from Liam Dick and Andy Graham failed to cross the line as the away side held on for a narrow win to remain fourth, while Alloa dropped back to the bottom.
