Ferry gives Eastleigh sinking feeling
Posted Sunday, March 03, 2019 by PA
James Ferry struck 13 minutes from time as Halifax’s 1-0 win at Eastleigh stopped their opponents winning six in a row.
The Shaymen kept the hosts at bay in the early stages, but that was thanks in part to goalkeeper Sam Johnson, who clawed away Josh Hare’s powerful strike.
Eastleigh were even more baffled minutes later when Chris Zebroski hit the crossbar, and on the follow up Hare again struck the frame of the goal.
In the second half, the hosts had a scare when Luke Southwood was forced to save expertly in a one-on-one with substitute Scott Quigley.
The 77th-minute winner saw Ferry smash in from 30 yards.
