Patrick Boyle’s eighth-minute goal sent Peterhead four points clear at the top of Scottish League Two.
Boyle scored his first goal for the club when he forced his way into the box to head in the only goal of a 1-0 win over Elgin.
While the leaders were recording a 19th win of the season, second-placed Edinburgh City and third-placed Clyde were swapping places.
David Goodwillie’s penalty 50 minutes in put Clyde in front and, even though Tom Lang was sent off with a quarter of the game left, the home side held on for a 1-0 victory.
Annan have a 10-point buffer in fourth place after a 2-1 win over Queen’s Park.
Tony Wallace opened the scoring 23 minutes in and the same man added his 10th of the season 17 minutes from the end. David Galt (76) made for a tense finish but an equaliser did not come.
Stirling Albion were 2-1 winners at Cowdenbeath despite the sending off of Darren Smith for a late tackle on Robbie Buchanan.
Smith opened the scoring (34) but was sent off on the stroke of half-time. David Cox levelled for the home side, before Peter MacDonald won it (71).
Albion Rovers remain stuck on one win for the season, the bottom side drawing 1-1 with Berwick.
George Newell put them ahead (15) but Calum Adamson equalised with three minutes to go.
