Mauro Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara has been contacted by Chelsea intermediaries over a summer transfer from Inter Milan.

The world-class striker has been stripped of the captaincy at the San Siro and his relationship with the club appears to have broken down.

A departure at the end of the season looks increasingly likely, with Real Madrid, Juventus and Napoli all keen too.

Italian outlet Sport Mediaset say Chelsea have made calls to Nara in recent days as they explore the possibility of signing the 26-year-old Argentinian, who has long been a target.

Chelsea would pursue Icardi, who has a buyout clause worth £95m that expires on July 15 within his contract, if they do not sign Gonzalo Higuain on a permanent basis.

Icardi’s compatriot is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge from Juventus, but were Maurizio Sarri to be sacked, Higuain would not be expected to stay.

Laurent Blanc could be Chelsea’s man to replace Sarri in the Stamford Bridge hotseat after missing out in the summer.

The London Evening Standard say the former PSG manager met with Blues director Marina Granovskaia as the club sought Antonio Conte’s successor.

Despite talks being held, Chelsea opted for Sarri, but 53-year-old ex-Manchester United defender Blanc will be among the candidates this time.

Sarri is on the brink of the sack and desperately needs to see the Blues through their Europa League tie tonight before beating Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Blanc would want a full-time position rather than a caretaker role if he were to be offered the job.

But Zinedine Zidane and Frank Lampard are also in the running as Chelsea prepare for life after Sarri.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is raging at how little game time he is getting still under Sarri.

Chelsea’s talented teenage winger was forced to stay in January as the club refused to sanction a £35m sale to Bayern Munich.

A summer exit looks increasingly likely given Hudson-Odoi’s continued frustration, there has been no offer of a new contract despite talks, and PSG have now joined Bayern in the race to sign him.

The 18-year-old is fuming at how he has been treated since having in a transfer request last month, according to The Sun.

And his future is now destined to be away from Chelsea, regardless of whether Sarri survives the axe.

Eden Hazard to Real Madrid

With the Blues chasing a place in the top four, it was a morale-damaging blow to lose to United - especially after being hammered by their neighbours Manchester City 6-0 in the previous result.

If the west London outfit fail to make it to the Champions League, they can likely kiss goodbye to any chance of keeping hold of Eden Hazard.

The Belgian has openly flirted with a move to Real Madrid all season after a transfer failed in the summer.

However, former Liverpool and Fulham midfielder Murphy reckons Chelsea can stop a transfer to the Bernabeu by hiring one man in place of Sarri.

"I know that Hazard is a huge fan of Zidane so the prospect of working with him might be enough to convince him to stay at Chelsea,” he said.
