Plymouth have invited former Mansfield winger Paul Anderson to train with them this week as they seek cover for a number of injuries.
Ex-Nottingham Forest and Ipswich winger Anderson is a free agent after leaving Mansfield on transfer deadline day, and could provide cover for Joel Grant who is expected to miss the rest of the season with a thigh injury.
Conor Grant and Jamie Ness are back in training after injuries of their own, but they will not feature against Rochdale on Saturday as they get back to full fitness.
Lloyd Jones is still waiting for his debut after fellow January signing Oscar Threlkeld came on as a substitute against Bradford last weekend.
Andy Lonergan will be available for Rochdale after his emergency loan was again extended for a further seven days.
The veteran goalkeeper joined from Middlesbrough two weeks ago following an injury to Josh Lillis.
Keith Hill indicated a couple of players suffered knocks in the midweek 4-3 loss to AFC Wimbledon but declined to offer further details.
Kgosi Ntlhe and Ollie Rathbone remain sidelined.
