Fraser penalty enough for Cowdenbeath

Gary Fraser’s second-half penalty gave Cowdenbeath a 1-0 win over Scottish League Two bottom side Albion Rovers.
The hosts twice hit the woodwork with Kris Renton seeing his header come back off the bar in the third minute of first-half injury time and Fraser Mullan’s free-kick shortly after the interval also rebounding off the goal frame.
But the Blue Brazil finally took the lead in the 63rd minute after Robert Griffiths fouled Robbie Buchanan, Fraser taking responsibility and making no mistake to beat Peter Morrison from the spot.
The win leaves Cowdenbeath nine points outside the promotion play-off places while Albion Rovers remained seven points adrift at the foot of the table after a seventh straight defeat.
