Paul Scholes suffered his first defeat in management as Oldham were stunned 2-1 at home by struggling Morecambe.
The Latics were looking to boost their League Two play-off hopes, but instead they were beaten by a last-minute goal from Shrimps substitute Aaron Collins.
Morecambe took just four minutes to grab the lead as Piero Mingoia was given time and space to cross from the right and Jordan Cranston swept in from 10 yards.
Cranston was also denied by goalkeeper Daniel Iversen, who then made a fine save from Carlos Mendes Gomes with the visitors creating chances at will.
Oldham finally came to life as Jose Baxter, Peter Clarke and George Edmundson all forced saves from Mark Halstead.
Scholes’ side levelled on 76 minutes when Johan Branger delivered a left-wing cross to Baxter, who planted a simple header high into the net from eight yards.
Home substitute Urko Vera was superbly kept out by Halstead and the final twist came on the stroke of 90 minutes as Liam Mandeville set up Collins to slot home and snatch victory.
