Orient miss chance to go top of National League

Leyton Orient missed the chance to go top of the National League and instead slipped to third as they went down 1-0 at home to struggling Maidenhead.
With leaders Solihull Moors drawing at home to Barnet, Orient could have gone top on goal difference with victory over the side second bottom of the table.
Instead a sixth defeat of the season and Wrexham’s win at Havant and Waterlooville meant they finished the afternoon outside the top two, three points behind Solihull and one adrift of Wrexham.
The only goal of the game came in the 53rd minute when Adrian Clifton, despite suggestions of offside, side-footed home.
Orient had dominated the first half, but were unable to find a way past visiting goalkeeper Carl Pentney.
And, after falling behind, they could not find a way back into the match and in fact Nana Owusu should have made the points safe for Maidenhead in added time, but his shot when one-on-one with the keeper struck a post.
