Kieffer Moore injury blow for Barnsley
Posted Friday, February 15, 2019 by PA
Top scorer Kieffer Moore will miss Barnsley’s games against Wycombe and Burton Albion.
The striker suffered concussion after falling heavily in the 82nd minute of the Reds’ 4-1 victory at Gillingham last weekend and was observed overnight in hospital as a precaution.
Assistant head coach Dale Tonge said the club was following the concussion protocol and would re-assess Moore after two weeks.
Ben Williams is expected to be missing from action for another fortnight, but Adam Jackson is available for selection after returning to training.
Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth has no new injury concerns as he seeks to complete a league double over Barnsley.
Alex Samuel missed the 3-0 defeat at Luton last week with a rib injury but is set to return to the squad.
Paris Cowan-Hall could be the man to make way if Samuel comes straight back into the starting XI.
Long-term injury absentees Darius Charles and goalkeeper Yves Makaba-Makalamby remain sidelined.
