Rodman rescues point for Bristol Rovers against Shrewsbury

Alex Rodman netted a second-half equaliser to earn Bristol Rovers a 1-1 draw in a tetchy League One relegation battle with 10-man Shrewsbury at the Memorial Stadium.
The visitors took a 36th minute lead when Shaun Whalley played a one-two with Josh Laurent on the left corner of the box and advanced to see his right-footed shot deflected past Jack Bonham.
But Rovers hit back eight minutes after the break. Chris Lines delivered a free-kick from the right into the box and Rodman was given yards of space to equalise with a powerful header against his former club.
Shrewsbury had substitute Dave Edwards sent off on 85 minutes for a lunging challenge in the middle of the pitch.
Both sides had been lucky to keep 11 on the field before that in a feisty basement clash.
As the match overheated in the first half, Rovers coach Chris Hargreaves was shown a yellow card in the dug-out for remarks to the fourth official.
