Oldham captain Peter Clarke is set to return from suspension for their Sky Bet League Two clash against Morecambe.
The veteran defender was given his marching orders in the FA Cup fourth round defeat at Doncaster last weekend and missed the midweek loss at MK Dons.
Strikers Zak Dearnley and Oladapo Afolayan joined on loan from Manchester United and West Ham respectively and could make their Latics debuts.
Long-term absentees Dan Gardner (knee) and Ousmane Fane (leg) remain out.
Morecambe striker Vadaine Oliver is facing around eight weeks on the sidelines as he requires surgery on his right knee.
The 27-year-old returned to action in the 1-1 draw at Northampton last weekend following an ankle injury but faces another lay-off after suffering cartilage damage.
Accrington winger Piero Mingoia and Leeds striker Sam Dalby both joined the Shrimps on loan on transfer deadline day and both will be pushing for inclusion.
Morecambe are yet to win in their seven fixtures in 2019, drawing on four occasions and losing three times, and they hover just two points above the drop zone.
