Manchester United vs Burnley - Chris Smalling in line for Manchester United return
Posted Tuesday, January 29, 2019 by PA
Chris Smalling could return after seven weeks on the sidelines when Manchester United host Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday.
The defender has not featured since December 8 due to a foot issue, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering him after training over the past week.
Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini remain sidelined for Tuesday’s match, while David De Gea will return in goal after being rested for the FA Cup win at Arsenal.
Robbie Brady is a major doubt for Burnley.
The Republic of Ireland international picked up a groin injury in the Clarets’ FA Cup thumping at Manchester City and is unlikely to be passed fit.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson could return after three weeks out with a thigh injury, but doubts also remain over Phil Bardsley and Matt Lowton.
