CHELSEA striker Alvaro Morata has jetted off to Spain along with his family to complete his loan switch to Atletico Madrid.

The 26-year-old is believed to have already undergone fitness tests ahead of his move to the Wanda Metropolitano.

Morata - without a Premier League goal since November 4 - has fallen out of favour under Maurizio Sarri.

The Blues boss recently revealed that the ex-Real Madrid striker had asked to play for another club last month, as he labelled him as "potentially a very good player".

And the former Juventus ace's deal to join Atletico was seemingly confirmed by his partner Alice Campello after she posted a picture on Instagram.

Smiling together with their twin sons on board a private jet, she simply captioned the snap: "Family trip."

Atletico have the option of turning Morata's 18-month deal into a permanent switch

It is understood that Morata will sign for Diego Simeone's side on an 18-month loan, with the club able to turn his spell into a permanent move.

But Atletico fans voiced their displeasure over the proposed deal during their win against Getafe with anti-Morata chants.

The player has failed to hit the heights in West London after joining from Los Blancos for £60million in 2017 - netting just 24 goals in 72 games.

He last featured for Chelsea at the start of the month, where his double helped knock Nottingham Forest out of the FA Cup.
