Struggling Grimsby to check on injured duo

Grimsby are waiting on the fitness of Elliot Embleton and Danny Collins ahead of their Sky Bet League Two fixture against MK Dons at the weekend.

Midfielder Embleton was sidelined for the midweek loss at Forest Green – Grimsby’s fifth in a row in all competitions – because of a niggle while defender Collins has been absent for the past month.

Striker Harry Cardwell is also a doubt after picking up a knock against Rovers while goalkeeper James McKeown serves the second game of his three-match suspension.

Defender Akin Famewo and midfielder Elliott Whitehouse will also miss out through injury.

MK Dons defender George Williams is set to be out for a “considerable amount of time” according to manager Paul Tisdale.

The defender limped off early on in the defeat at Bury earlier this month and his hamstring injury means he is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

Fellow full-back Callum Brittain’s return from an ankle issue has been delayed by a bout of tonsillitis although it is hoped he will not be absent for too much longer.

Midfielder Ryan Harley made his comeback after five months out injured against Crewe last weekend and could be pushing for a starting role.
