Barnsley are monitoring Cauley Woodrow ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with Rochdale at Oakwell.
Having scored, the forward then came off in the first half of the 4-1 win at AFC Wimbledon last weekend due to a leg problem.
Elliot Simoes could be involved after joining from FC United of Manchester on Monday, and Jordan Green will hope to make his debut – he was an unused substitute at Kingsmeadow, the day after the Tykes recruited him from Yeovil.
Jack Walton is still unavailable as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.
Defender Ryan McLaughlin is set to make his Rochdale bow.
The right-back was signed from Blackpool on Wednesday following the departure of Joe Rafferty to Preston.
Luke Matheson will be looking for further involvement after the 16-year-old was handed his maiden league appearance when coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Fleetwood.
That result brought a first point in five outings for Keith Hill’s Dale, who are 20th in the table. Barnsley lie fifth.
