Havant & Waterlooville ease relegation fears with win at Boreham Wood

Havant & Waterlooville moved three points clear of the National League relegation zone with a 3-1 victory at Boreham Wood.

Matt Paterson, who returned to the club earlier this week, needed just nine minutes to find the net when he tapped in from close range.

Havant doubled their advantage seven minutes later as Andy Robinson curled in a superb free-kick from the edge of the area.

Wood set up a tense final 20 minutes, Idris Kanu tapping in at the back post, but Hassan Jalloh made the game safe for Havant by tapping in the rebound after Alfie Rutherford’s penalty was saved.
