Doncaster pair James Coppinger and Paul Taylor could both return to action in the home game against Rochdale.
Veteran midfielder Coppinger did not feature in Saturday’s win at Gillingham due to a foot injury, while forward Taylor missed out through illness.
Defender Shaun Cummings is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks after sustaining a groin injury in the Boxing Day defeat at Fleetwood.
Two other defenders, Niall Mason (broken toe) and Joe Wright (ankle), are closing in on their returns following long-term injuries.
Rochdale boss Keith Hill could make changes following his side’s 4-0 home defeat to Bradford on Saturday.
Bradden Inman replaced Matty Gillam in the only change to the starting line-up from the Boxing Day win over Blackpool.
Hill has reported no major new injury concerns, but Danny Adshead was replaced by Kgose Ntlhe before half-time against Bradford and the latter could start at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Striker Calvin Andrew, midfielder David Perkins and Gillam are among those pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.
