Lincoln to assess Vickers and McCartan
Posted Sunday, December 30, 2018 by PA
Lincoln will check on the fitness of Josh Vickers and Shay McCartan ahead of their home game against Port Vale.
Both players missed the win at Cambridge after sustaining injuries on Boxing Day. Goalkeeper Vickers has a calf complaint while forward McCartan is nursing a knock.
Vickers was playing his first game back after spending a month on the sidelines due to injury.
Imps boss Danny Cowley must decide whether he needs to freshen up his team as he looks to maintain Lincoln’s lead at the top of the table.
Connell Rawlinson will once again be assessed by Vale’s medical team.
The defender has missed the last two matches through injury, with Mitch Clark coming in to replace him.
Vale boss Neil Aspin could make changes after Saturday’s 4-1 home defeat to Oldham. The likes of David Worrall, Scott Quigley, Louis Dodds and Tom Conlon are vying for recalls.
Aspin’s side are without a win in five games and have won only one of their last nine matches in Sky Bet League Two.
