Northampton stage late fightback to draw with MK Dons

Junior Morias scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser as local rivals Northampton and MK Dons played out a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Alex Gilbey and Chukes Aneke had Dons 2-0 up with just 12 minutes to go but the Cobblers hit back thanks to Andy Williams and then Morias’ last-gasp leveller, increasing their unbeaten home run to 10 games.
Baily Cargill fired just wide for the visitors early on before Dons struck 19 minutes in when Ash Taylor gave away a penalty and Gilbey converted the rebound after David Cornell had saved Aneke’s spot-kick.
Taylor was then involved at both ends of the pitch, clearing off the line from Kieran Agard before heading just over in Northampton’s best chance.
Dons survived two goalmouth scrambles either side of half-time but they doubled their lead when Agard’s shot was deflected into the path of Aneke and he spun in the box and fired beyond Cornell.
But Northampton dramatically fought back, Williams thundering home a header from Jack Bridge’s corner and then Morias latching onto Sam Hoskins’ pass and lifting over Lee Nicholls to equalise in added time.
