Loanee Ben Tollitt scored on his debut as Wrexham thumped 10-man Salford 5-1 to leapfrog them into second in the Vanarama National League table.
The hosts broke the deadlock after just three minutes when captain Shaun Pearson headed in at the back post.
Wrexham doubled their advantage in the 25th minute, with Akil Wright finishing off a brilliant team move by nodding the ball beyond Chris Neal.
The home side then made it 3-0 on the brink of half-time when Brad Walker fired in from the edge of the area.
Substitute Tollitt, on loan from Tranmere, marked his debut with a goal in the 86th minute before Salford’s Tom Walker was sent off for picking up a second yellow card.
Chris Holroyd made it 5-0 in added time before Danny Whitehead scored a consolation for the visitors just before the final whistle.
