Thomas rectifies his statements: Atletico is the club where I want to be

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey voiced his displeasure about not playing in the important games after Saturday's 1-0 victory over Espanyol, yet on Christmas Eve he has looked to rectify those comments.
While Thomas started the match against Espanyol, he has often been left out of Diego Simeone's starting line-up for the biggest matches.
"Sometimes I feel unhappy at Atletico," he said after the match.
"To be happy you have to play in important games and feel stronger, more confident.
The Ghanaian wanted to clarify his statements and went to social media in order to do so.
"On Saturday after the match I made some statements that were not understood well," he wrote.
"I want to explain myself better.
"Atletico is the club where I want to be and I would like to keep growing as a player, for the club and for the fans.
"And it's true that I feel like I can be even more important and that's why I work hard every day.
"I do not want to be content and that is good [as I look to become] the best player that I can be.
"Merry Christmas and Aupa Atleti!"
After the Christmas break, second-placed Atletico will travel to the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to face third-placed Sevilla on 6 January.
