Carlisle keep up goalscoring form with win at Crawley

Carlisle followed up their 4-0 home win over Colchester with a deserved 3-2 victory at out-of-form Crawley.

Dominic Poleon scored twice for the hosts, but Jack Sowerby sent the Reds down to a sixth defeat in the last seven league games just after the interval.

Former Bradford striker Poleon gave Crawley the lead in only the eighth minute by outpacing defender Anthony Gerrard and scoring with a low shot which went in off the far post.

Crawley keeper Glenn Morris dived to parry a shot from the recalled Tom Parkes before Jerry Yates levelled in the 14th minute.

The young striker pounced to score from point blank range after Morris parried a shot from Ashley Nadesan.

Yates was denied in a one-on-one situation with Morris before Carlisle went in front on 37 minutes when George Francomb was adjudged to have brought down Hallam Hope and Danny Grainger blasted home the resulting penalty.

Poleon struck again, however, three minutes later to make it 2-2 with an emphatic finish following a cross by midfielder Luke Gambin.

Sowerby, on loan from Fleetwood, restored Carlisle`s lead 11 minutes after the break when, after a cross by Jamie Devitt, he fired in off the post.

Keeper Morris then twice denied Devitt as the Cumbrians, fresh from their biggest home win in over a year, continued to threaten.
