Terrors triumph over Falkirk

Dundee United returned to winning ways after ending their three-game stretch without a victory with a 2-1 triumph over bottom side Falkirk.
The victory leaves the Terrors in third place, four adrift of leaders Ross County, while the Bairns remain at the foot of the table in the relegation place but are just a point behind Partick Thistle.
United’s early pressure paid off when they went ahead after 22 minutes when Samuel Stanton’s shot took a deflection to wrongfoot Falkirk goalkeeper David Mitchell.
The hosts came close to extending the lead four minutes before the break but Mitchell made a superb save to tip Rachid Bouhenna’s shot against the crossbar.
The Terrors made sure of victory eight minutes after the interval, Pavol Safranko heading home a cross from Fraser Aird.
Falkirk netted a late consolation when Aaron Muirhead converted from the spot after Dennon Lewis was brought down.
