Second-half blitz helps Accrington past Plymouth

Accrington ended their four-match losing streak in League One with a 3-0 win at Plymouth.
Sam Finley headed Stanley in front in the 61st minute, latching on to a cross from the right from Jordan Clark which was flicked on by striker Billy Kee.
Within four minutes it was 2-0 as Sean McConville cut in from the left and fired in off the far post.
McConville had come closest to scoring in the first half with a thumping shot that came off the underside of the bar and the inside of the upright.
Kee then fired just wide on 72 minutes as Stanley went in search of a third goal, which wasn’t long in coming as Clark went solo in the 77th minute.
Argyle had started the game on the front foot and Stanley keeper Connor Ripley had to use his feet to clear Freddie Ladapo’s goal-bound shot in the fourth minute after playmaker Graham Carey split the visitors’ defence apart with a superb cross-field pass.
Ladapo went closer with a shot that curled just over the bar at the end of the first half but once again Argyle’s inability to take their chances proved costly as they stayed rooted in the bottom four.
