Jose Mourinho leaves massive £537,000 hotel bill after FINALLY checking out of the Lowry

JOSE Mourinho has left a staggering £537,000 bill behind for his 895-day stay at the luxury Lowry Hotel after being sacked by Manchester United.

At least for the Portuguese he will not have the upheaval of moving house as he never checked out of the hotel in Salford Quays during his entire time at the club which did lead some fans to question his commitment.

While Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has embraced the area by moving into a city centre apartment, Mourinho’s family base remained firmly in London.

The former Chelsea boss’ daughter Matilde graduated from London’s University of Arts this summer and his son, also called Jose, played for Fulham until April 2017.

Mourinho’s players were often seen in the plush Cheshire village of Hale, having bought mansions, but the Portuguese was instead pictured on the steps of the Lowry Hotel where he was welcomed by a doorman every time he arrived at the fire-star accommodation.

United did use the Lowry as their main base before games with players instructed to arrive at the hotel the night before home fixtures in order to eat together.
He was in one of the Riverside Suites that are priced at £600 on their website – which would mean over half a million pounds was splashed out on his stay if he paid the going rate.

There is a suite on each floor of the hotel that overlooks the River Irwell that runs through Manchester and was designed by internationally acclaimed Oldham born artist, Alan Rankle.

Each room features a piece of Rankle’s art on an upholstered headboard, curved around the bed with mirrors strategically placed to fully appreciate the artist’s work.

There are no luxuries spared with guests having access to a gym and spa area while those in the Riverside Suites having in-suite check in, a bag packing service, valet and a full English breakfast.
