Dayle Southwell’s fifth goal of the season moments before half-time earned Halifax a 1-1 Vanarama National League draw with Boreham Wood.
Boreham Wood missed the opportunity to close in on the play-off places after Justin Shaibu fourth-minute strike had handed them an early lead.
The point sees them remain in 11th place, seven points adrift of Gateshead in the final play-off spot, while Halifax remain 16th six points clear of the drop zone.
Shaibu claimed his second goal in two games when he headed home Gozie Ugwu cross to give the Wood the perfect start.
Halifax drew level when Jacob Hanson’s initial shot was blocked, but Southwell reacted quickest to fire the rebound into the net.
