Luton Town consolidated their League One promotion credentials with a 2-1 victory at Coventry City.
Goals from Matthew Pearson and James Collins ensured a sixth successive league success for Nathan Jones’ high-flyers, whilst Coventry’s winless run now stretches to six league games.
Harry Cornick missed a gilt-edged chance after 15 minutes as he latched onto a sublime Elliot Lee pass, but dragged his shot wide of the post.
Coventry thought they had taken the lead when Jordy Hiwula bundled an effort towards goal, however the officials had judged that the ball had not crossed the line.
Luton opened the scoring after 38 minutes when a corner from the right was headed back across the face of goal by Sonny Bradley before being stabbed home by Pearson.
And the Hatters sealed their win after 57 minutes when Lee danced outside Coventry’s 18-yard-box before picking out Collins to fire home.
Jonson Clarke-Harris denied James Shea a fourth consecutive clean sheet as he dispatched a consolation penalty for Coventry deep in added time, but Luton held on to claim all three points.
