Clarke earns point for Halifax at in-form Dagenham

Dagenham and Redbridge were unable to make the most of Josh Staunton’s first-half red card as they conceded a late equaliser to be held 1-1 at home by Halifax.
Staunton, a former Daggers defender, received his marching orders in the 35th minute and red-hot Dagenham appeared to have taken full advantage courtesy of Jack Munns’ fine 60th-minute finish.
That goal could have earned Dagenham a seventh win in their last eight league matches, but Halifax had other ideas and snatched a point nine minutes from time thanks to Nathan Clarke’s header from a corner.
To add salt to Dagenham’s wounds, they too finished the match with 10 men as captain Ben Nunn was shown a second yellow card in stoppage time.
