Sam Ricketts indecisive on his future, says Wrexham assistant boss Graham Barrow

Exiled Wrexham boss Sam Ricketts is “indecisive” on his future after being told he could not attend the FA Cup tie with Newport, according to assistant Graham Barrow.
Ricketts is being strongly linked with the vacant Shrewsbury job and on the morning of the Welsh derby the club’s board told their manager to stay away.
Barrow was proud of his side’s assured display against League Two opposition and revealed the former Bolton defender may yet return to the Racecourse Ground.
“What’s happened with Sam was he was asked not to attend the game and I was asked to do it,” said Barrow, left in charge alongside Jussi Jaaskelainen and Carl Darlington.
“It’s now for the board and Sam to get their heads together and see what comes out of it.
“I spoke to Sam and he didn’t indicate he was going anywhere, he seemed more indecisive than anything.
“I think there is always a way back but it is quite a unique situation. It needs to be addressed quickly and I’m sure it will be.
“It has been difficult but the team showed real character. I couldn’t fault the lads, it’s just a pity we didn’t get the result.”
The Exiles, who sit fourth in the National League, enjoyed the lion’s share of chances and outplayed the EFL outfit.
Newport chief Michael Flynn, who claimed the scalp of Leeds en route to a glamour fourth-round tie with Tottenham in last year’s FA Cup, was disappointed with the display.
Flynn said: “I’m not sure quite what’s gone on with Sam Ricketts, but it’s not my concern.
“There was no complacency from us, we just weren’t very good. The players gave their all but we didn’t have the quality.”
