Southend will be without Harry Kyprianou for the Sky Bet League One match against Scunthorpe.
Defender Kyprianou is being assessed on an Achilles problem picked up during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon, which is feared could be another serious injury setback for the Shrimpers.
Defender Michael Turner completes his three-match suspension, while centre-back Harry Lennon (fractured leg) and goalkeeper Ted Smith (leg muscle) continue their recovery.
Summer signing Sam Barratt is out for the season with a serious knee injury, while left-back Ben Coker, midfielder Lewis Gard and forward Tom Hopper also remain sidelined.
Scunthorpe both Stuart McCall has to deal with his own share of selection concerns for the trip to the Essex coast.
Midfielder Funso Ojo, who had been carrying a hamstring problem, was forced off during the first half of the 2-1 home defeat by Portsmouth, while Ryan Colclough (knee) is set to miss the rest of the season.
Defender James Perch is available again following a one-match suspension.
Jordan Clarke (shoulder), Levi Sutton (thigh) and midfielder Josh Morris (broken jaw) all continue their recovery.
