Colchester will again be without defender Tom Eastman for the Sky Bet League Two match against Exeter.
Eastman has been sidelined with a head injury since the FA Cup defeat at Accrington.
Midfielder Harry Bell is available again having now served a one-match league ban for a fifth caution.
Goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin (hamstring) continues his recovery, while leading scorer Luke Norris (ankle) is expected to come back in contention before Christmas.
Exeter boss Matt Taylor is set to see his selection options boosted for the trip to Essex.
Defender Dean Moxey returns following suspension, while midfielder Lee Martin should be available after returning to training this week.
Winger Chiedozie Ogbene is also in contention after building up match fitness in a midweek Central Reserve League fixture, along with defender Jimmy Oates, midfielder Archie Collins and forward Matt Jay.
Midfielder Hiram Boateng, though, is set to be out for up to three months after tearing his hip flexor muscle.
