Gateshead and Sutton share points from National League draw

Gateshead and Sutton played out a goalless draw in the Vanarama National League game at Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday.
The two sides, who are currently vying for a position in the play-off places, both drew a blank, leaving Sutton one point ahead of their hosts in seventh spot.
Sutton striker Jonah Ayunga tested the Heed defence and went close with a late chance but it was turned around the post by Jon Mellish, before goalkeeper Aynsley Pears tipped Charlie Clough’s header from the resulting corner onto the crossbar.
Pears and Clough had a coming together in stoppage time, with the latter picking up a booking, as Gateshead held on for a point.
