Newport County vs Colchester United - Flynn to consider attacking changes
Posted Friday, November 16, 2018 by PA
Newport boss Michael Flynn could look to freshen up his attack for the Sky Bet League Two match against fellow top-six side Colchester.
Flynn made some five changes for last weekend’s FA Cup 2-0 win over the Metropolitan Police, with Padraig Amond and Jamille Matt both on target.
Teenagers Antoine Semenyo and Mark Harris impressed with goals in the midweek Checkatrade Trophy victory against Plymouth, as the on-loan duo staked their claim for a place in the starting XI again.
Midfielders Andrew Crofts (Achilles) and Joss Labadie (knee) both continue their rehabilitation.
Colchester will have Ollie Kensdale and Cameron James available after recalling them from respective loan spells Maldon & Tiptree and Braintree.
U’s boss John McGreal is without both defender Tom Eastman (head) and midfielder Tom Lapslie (hamstring) because of injury, the recalled duo will offer cover.
Goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin (hamstring) misses out, while midfielder Harry Bell will serve a one-match league ban after collecting five yellow cards ahead of the FA Cup defeat to Accrington Stanley.
Striker Luke Norris continues his recovery from an ankle problem.
