Paul Watson takes Terrors past Ross County

Paul Watson’s first-half strike proved enough as Dundee United claimed their third straight win by edging past Ross County 1-0 at Victoria Park.
Defender Watson opened the scoring for the visitors after 15 minutes as he slammed Fraser Aird’s free-kick into the bottom corner from close range for his fifth goal of the season.
Billy McKay had a header held out in the opening exchanges as Ross County started strong while, at the other end, Stewart Murdoch fired wide before Ross Draper was denied an equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
The home side came close to a leveller 10 minutes after the break before Jamie Lindsay fired wide, while Rachid Bouhenna struck a long-range free-kick just over the top as the Terrors searched for a second before they saw out the narrow win to strengthen their hold on third.
