Kretzschmar on the spot as Woking see off Torquay

Max Kretzschmar’s 48th-minute penalty proved enough to earn Woking a 1-0 win over Torquay United in the FA Cup first round.
The Gulls were denied an opener on five minutes when Jean-Yves Koue Niate’s close-range effort was disallowed for offside.
Kretzschmar forced a smart reflex save from United keeper Shaun MacDonald and Toby Edser also looked well placed to score for the visitors but was denied by a last-ditch tackle by Gulls midfielder Ryan Dickson.
United threatened 10 minutes later when Jake Andrews attempted an angled strike from distance that Cards keeper Craig Ross punched behind for a corner.
Kalvin Lumbombo Kalala and Connor Lemonheigh-Evans were both denied by Ross as both sides went into the interval goalless but Woking were in front three minutes into the second half as Kretzschmar converted from the spot after Jamar Loza was felled by Niate.
United threatened an equaliser on 58 minutes when Siakou Janneh fired into the side netting with an angled effort.
In injury time, Jamie Reid and Lemonheigh-Evans both saw efforts blocked by the Woking defence as the Gulls bowed out of the Cup to their National League South counterparts.
