Ayr stay top after narrow win at Falkirk

Ayr remain top of the Scottish Championship after a 1-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Falkirk.
Craig Moore’s second-half goal proved the deciding moment and gave the visitors their third successive victory.
After a goalless first half, Moore’s right-foot strike into the bottom-left corner beat goalkeeper David Mitchell to break the deadlock.
It was Moore’s third goal of the season and his first since September when he scored twice against Morton in a 5-1 win.
The home side had a couple of chances to level, Zak Rudden heading wide from an unmarked position on the hour and Deimantas Petravicius seeing his shot sail high over the crossbar shortly afterwards.
Defeat leaves Falkirk with four points from their opening 12 matches and they are four points adrift of ninth-placed Alloa.
