Solihull miss penalty in goalless draw with Halifax

Danny Wright’s missed penalty cost Solihull Moors the chance of victory as they were held to a goalless draw at home by Halifax.

Despite dominating the first half and creating a number of chances the hosts found it difficult to break down their opponents with goalkeeper Sam Johnson in good form.

Their best chance came on the half-hour when Jermaine Hylton went around Johnson and was brought down by Matthew Brown.

However, Wright blazed the resulting spot-kick over the crossbar and with it went the chance of recording a first win over Halifax after seven previous failures.

While a point away from home was a valuable one for the visitors they have now not won in 11 matches, dating back to August 27.
