Chesterfield snatch late point at Sutton

Chesterfield’s long wait for a win continues but Jonathan Smith’s 89th-minute strike earned them a late point at Sutton.
The Spireites have not tasted victory since August 11 – a run of 15 matches – but they now have five successive National League draws thanks to Smith’s late intervention.
Smith drilled a low shot just inside the post from 20 yards to deny their hosts right at the end.
Sutton had led through Jonah Ayunga’s 37th-minute strike which wrong-footed goalkeeper Callum Burton.
