Back-to-back wins for struggling Braintree

Braintree won 4-2 at Bromley for their second successive win and only their third in this season’s Vanarama National League.

Virgil Gomis gave the visitors the lead early on, but Joe Quigley equalised on his home debut after George Porter’s effort ricocheted into his path.

Braintree edged back in front when Reece Grant got on the end of a swift counter-attack and prodded home from five yards.

The Cressing Road club then extended their lead in the second half when Lyle Della Verde found the top corner.

Neil Smith brought on Omar Bugiel to great effect as the striker pulled one back for Bromley on 58 minutes, but Grant restored the two-goal margin late on as the visitors followed up Saturday’s win over Dover.
