Eastleigh hold Leyton Orient to well-earned draw

Ben Strevens put in a plausible bid to be considered as the next Eastleigh manager as the Hampshire club gained a creditable 1-1 home draw with promotion-chasing Leyton Orient.

The caretaker’s men forged in front in the first-half when the creative Mark Yeates curled a corner into the box to be met by the head of Josh Hare.

Right-back Myles Judd was the architect of the Orient equaliser though midway through the second half, crossing for Macauley Bonne to register with a cool finish – the striker’s 12th goal of a productive season.

Eastleigh were grateful that Bonne failed to give the away side the lead four minutes later as he headed James Dayton’s cross just over.
