Dover winless run extended to 14 after Dagenham defeat

Dover slumped further adrift at the bottom of the Vanarama National League after a 2-0 defeat at home to fellow relegation battlers Dagenham & Redbridge.

Ole Adeloye gave the Daggers an early lead. He played a key part in the build-up, heading on for Angelo Balanta to get in behind the Whites’ defence and tee up a curled finish.

Dover were clearly struggling for confidence, and just before half-time Harry Phipps made it 2-0 with a downward header from Jack Munns’ corner.

Inih Effiong was unlucky not to reduce the arrears in the second half when he fired a shot off the crossbar.

Agonisingly for Dover, Elliot Justham turned the same player’s dipping free-kick on to the woodwork again minutes later.
