Danny Rowe strikes late as Fylde beat Gateshead

Danny Rowe’s 11th goal of the season won the game for Fylde deep into stoppage time, 1-0 at home to Gateshead.
Heed keeper Aynsley Pears had to claw a shot off his line early in the match, clutching at the second attempt after Andy Bond had aimed at goal.
Steve Watson’s visitors themselves came close towards the end of the first half when Luke Armstrong’s driven cross was turned on to the bar by strike partner Steven Rigg.
In the second half, Fylde’s Jay Lynch made a fine stop to deny Jack Hunter close in, as the match threatened to end in stalemate.
But Zaine Francis-Angol’s low centre was turned in clinically by Rowe to clinch victory for Fylde.
