Duku and Fonguck strike as Barnet beat Barrow
Posted Sunday, October 28, 2018 by PA
Barnet won a mid-table encounter 2-0 at Barrow to stoke up their promotion aspirations.
Ian Evatt’s hosts missed a key chance to go ahead early on. Dan Jones was denied by Mark Cousins and, from the follow up play, Tyler Smith headed just wide.
The visitors capitalised in the 16th minute. Josh Walker crossed accurately, and Manny Duku could hardly fail with the finish, netting his first goal for the Bees following his loan move from Cheltenham.
The Bluebirds tried to force an equaliser, but were caught on the break and Wesley Fonguck covered plenty of ground before curling a shot into the bottom corner.
The two-goal deficit proved too much for Barrow to peg back in the second half.
