Billy McKay scored a hat-trick as Scottish Championship leaders Ross County thumped Morton 5-0 at Dingwall.
The 30-year-old has now scored eight goals in his last four games and opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Davis Keillor-Dunn split the Morton defence with a great ball from the left and found the striker, who opened his body and fired in a bending shot from 18 yards.
The hosts had the chance to double their lead shortly before the half hour mark but Ross Draper’s powerful header cleared the crossbar from Josh Mullin’s outswinging corner.
County’s second came in the 42nd minute with a simple tap-in after Don Cowie took advantage of Morton’s failure to clear inside the box, rolling the ball across the face of goal where McKay provided a simple finish.
McKay completed his hat-trick shortly after the break when he lashed home from close range before Keillor-Dunn added the Staggies’ fourth in the 57th minute.
Brian Graham added a penalty in stoppage time after Lee Kilday fouled Declan McManus in the area.
