MOHAMED SALAH reacted in a muted manner for both of his goals against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night.

The Egyptian scored Liverpool’s only goal at the weekend in a 1-0 win over Huddersfield.

Salah had gone five games without notching prior to that, however, which garnered the 26-year-old some criticism.

The Reds winger notched a 38-game record 32 Premier League goals last term, a near-impossible task to replicate.

Ahead of Red Star’s visit, Salah had scored four goals in 12 appearances for Liverpool this season.

On the stroke of half-time, Liverpool’s talisman slammed home an effort on his right foot to send Jurgen Klopp’s men 2-0 up.

After netting his first Anfield strike since September 22, Salah appeared apathetic, however.

He peculiarly did not break a smile as he high-fived his team-mates.

Watching on at beIN SPORTS, two-time European Cup winner Ruud Gullit questioned Salah’s celebration.

“I think he scuffed it a little bit, but it’s a good scuff - not on his best foot!

“But I don’t understand this reaction. What does it mean? You score a goal in the Champions League - you should be happy.

“It’s almost like… I don’t know. What is it? Is it a statement like: ‘OK, I’m still here.’

“He could be happy, this reaction is a little bit odd for me.

“Even though you haven’t scored a lot of goals, you’ve scored. It must be a relief.”

Salah bagged a brace with a penalty in the second half, but once more look unbothered in his reaction, fiddling with his boot before accepting congratulations from his team-mates.

After the game, Salah said: “It’s great, I am happy to score my 50th goal for Liverpool, I am very proud about that.

“I want to keep scoring and help the team keep winning games."
